Maranatha High School Breaks CIF Rules
Maranatha High School CIF Rule Violations
What are the California Southern Section CIF Rules that Maranatha High School Coaches and Athletic Directors broke?
Whenever there is a transfer between schools participating in the CIF, there is a required four-game sit-out period for the athlete. This helps to prevent students from transferring and is meant to stop schools from recruiting athletes - this is also against the rules of CIF rules. The interesting thing is that although CIF sets the rules, they don't enforce them. Schools are on the honor system to do the right thing for youth sports. However, it's become apparent that schools or at least their sports departments, do not follow the rules. They knowingly break the rules and with little to no accountability.
Maranatha engaged in this rule-breaking scheme many times over. They recruited players and falsified move transfer paperwork while our students were at the school. When we said something about it, they retaliated big time, culminating in them kicking our student out of the school and harassing our other student.
Another student transferred from Maranatha to Pasadena High School and then back again and never followed the sitout rule period?
